Plantation shutters can fit almost every window regardless of the shape or design (literally). From your standard square set windows, to your more complicated bay windows, arch windows, whatever it may be our custom made plantation shutters will fit right in. Plantation Shutters are commonly used for the more custom windows, as well as windows facing the street to maximise your properties street appeal. Plantation Shutters come in white as a standard, though depending on the material you opt for there are many different paints or stains that can be used. For bathrooms and other wet areas we recommend using PVC as it may be prone to being effected by water, whereas in your bedrooms or living rooms you can select one of our other plantation shutter materials. Each home and room set-up is different, so it may be best to speak with us before making your decision to see if we can help you decide. Plantation shutters generally take a little longer to receive as a lot more work goes into the manufacturing side, so it’s best to get these ordered well in advance before you need them for privacy and security.

How much do they Cost?

As with all the other custom-made products, this depends on the overall size that you need for that specific product. Pricing is generally worked off a square meter rate, which can vary from $280 – $400 per square meter depending on the material required. Other surcharges may apply for round windows, or other extras.

Are they made in Australia?

Some are, yes. Though most commonly plantation shutters are imported from overseas. While this may prove to take longer to receive, the cost is most of the time more affordable. This also depends on which material is required.

Are they water resistant?

For our most commonly used plantation shutters, being the Thermo Pre Paint the answer is yes. When you start to look at the Basswood or other timber products we don’t recommend getting them wet as it may ruin the material over time.

Are they hard to install?

This all depends on the person and your ability to work with hand tools. Installation of Plantation Shutters requires some basic tools like a level, packers, electric drill and in some cases gap filler depending on your plantation shutter set-up. We recommend getting these professionally installed, though if you are handy with basic tools then this may be quite easy for you.

Do they have warranty?

Yes, all products that we offer have a warranty period though it does differ from product to product as well as the materials and manufacturer’s that you have chosen. Our important products tend to have a longer warranty life than our Australian based products.
